The institute supports three independent junior research groups working on quantitative crop genetics (Dr. Benjamin Stich), plant chemetics (Dr. Renier van der Hoorn) and plant computational biology (Dr. Heiko Schoof) and three groups combining research and service duties. These groups work on plant DNA recombination (Dr. Bern Reiss), special topics in cell biology (Dr. Elmon Schmelzer) and chemical biology (Dr. Erich Kombrink).
